Retired model Judith Heard and Fashion Designer Stella Atal are set to represent Uganda at a fashion event hosted by The United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Education (UNESCO) in Paris France.
Heard and Paris based Atal will attend the Africa Fashion Reception 2018 that will take place today evening, Wednesday November 7, at UNESCO offices in Paris.
Judith Heard has taken to social media to announce the news, saying she is honored by the invitation and promised to represent her beloved country well.
“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. It’s my pleasure to be invited back for the @unesco#africafashionreception happening on Wednesday in #Paris. I be representing #MyUganda with @stellaatal we love our country and promise to represent to the fullest to the world…”
This will be the duo’s second time representing Uganda at the prestigious event.
Earlier this year in May, Judith Heard walked the runway, showcasing designs from Uganda during the UNESCO Africa Fashion week.
The outfits were designed by Stella Atal and featured the traditional backcloth materials.
The Africa Fashion Reception (AFR) is a Pan African initiative.
The global edition will gather fashion designers, dignitaries, Ambassadors and media from over 30 African countries, in a celebration of cultural diversity expressed through the artistic fashion discipline.
