Events promoter Balaam Barugahara has asked Ugandans to stop judging troubled tycoon SK Mbuga and his wife Vivian Birungi.
Balaam, who has stood by Vivian while she remains in jail in Luzira, said that the couple should not be accused of fraud unless proven guilty.
He added that he does not understand why Ugandans are pointing fingers at Mbuga and Vivian, yet they are not being accused of stealing from a fellow Ugandan.
His outburst comes after Vivian Birungi was denied bail yesterday for the third time.
The mother of two appeared before the anti-corruption court on Wednesday March 13, for the hearing of her bail application.
However, she was left disheartened when lady justice Margaret Tibulya turned her request down claiming she will escape if granted bail, since she escaped last year, all the way from Sweden to Uganda after being granted bail.
Vivian is facing charges of fraud, money laundering and obtaining money by false pretense. Prosecution alleges that she defrauded Swedish politician Sten Heinsoo of over Shs 250 M by promising to get him gold, which never happened.
